ChurnZero’s employee spotlight series highlights the person behind the professional, digging deep and discovering what drives our team members. This spotlight features, Scott Polidoro, Customer Support Team Lead at ChurnZero.
Scott plays a central role in providing best-in-class services to ChurnZero’s rapidly expanding customer base by giving product guidance and investigating and helping to resolve product issues.
Let’s take a look at what Scott had to share.
Q: Why did you join ChurnZero?
A: I was looking for jobs in Customer Support when I stumbled upon ChurnZero. After looking into the company, I figured that a company that provides software that helps customers succeed would be a great place for me to learn and grow in Customer Support.
Q: What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ChurnZero?
A: Everyone at ChurnZero is extremely helpful. From previous work experience, I had expectations that I would have to figure things out on my own, but everyone from the top to the bottom is approachable and willing to assist with whatever you are working on.
Q: What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position?
A: A big misconception is that we deal with angry customers all of the time. While that may be the case occasionally, most of the time customers are very understanding and patient. They usually want to know the best ways to take advantage of all of the features ChurnZero has to offer.
Q: What was your first job?
A: I worked at a picking and packing plant testing out returned Roomba vacuums. Not a job I would recommend if you don’t like dealing with dust and dirt.
Q: What’s your remote work secret to success?
A: A key to remote work for me is separating my workspace from my living and bed space. I think it’s important to have a place where I can be productive that is sperate from the place I relax and unwind.
Q: What’s your favorite Churn Monster?
A: I like The Victim Churn Monster because he is doing nothing wrong, but life comes at his fast. Just minding his own business and an anvil falls on his head.
Q: What energizes you about your work?
A: The feeling I get after resolving complex problems for our customers.
Q: What’s your favorite family tradition?
A: Opening our Christmas stockings on New Years Day since it extends the holiday feeling a bit.
Q: What book are you currently reading?
A: I’m currently reading Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. I’m a big fan of sci-fi books (and movies) and I wanted to read more of the classics.
